Jill Jacobson, an American film and television actress known for her role in the movie "Star Trek: The Next Generation," died on December 8 in Los Angeles. She was 70 years old.

The death of the star was confirmed by Daniel Harari, a publicist and friend of the artist, who noted that Jill passed away after a "long illness." It was reported by Variety.

After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Jacobson moved to Los Angeles, where she began her acting career with the lead role in Nurse Sherry. She went on to star in the films "Star Trek: The Next Generation," "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine," "Days of Our Lives," "Hanged Man," "Newhart," "Castle," and "Who's the Boss"?

Caryn Richman, the actress's co-star in "The New Gidget," commented on the terrible news: "Jill's comedic timing was brilliant. And her enthusiasm and love of life made our process on set a joy."

Jacobson's other television credits include Mad Like a Fox, Quantum Leap, Arliss, and Murphy Brown. She has also performed stand-up comedy on stage at The Improv and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. Outside of her work in entertainment, Jill was a spokesperson who volunteered for the American Cancer Society.
