Security Service of Ukraine serves a notice of suspicion to Russian artist Shaman, who praises the occupiers and justifies the invasion

The Security Service of Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion to Russian singer Yaroslav Dronov, better known as Shaman. According to investigators, he openly supports Russia's war against Ukraine, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, and actively shares Kremlin propaganda.

The SSU reported on Telegram that Shaman is one of the key performers used by the Russian authorities to justify armed aggression and form a positive image of the occupiers. He regularly participates in events in support of the Kremlin and the Russian occupiers who are fighting against Ukraine.

In particular, at the end of 2022, Dronov recorded a video message in which he praised the Russian military and justified the aggression that began in 2014. And in February 2023, he performed at a concert in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region, popularizing the Kremlin's narratives.

The assessment confirmed that Shaman's public statements contained signs of glorification of Russian military formations and denial of the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories. Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators served him a notice of suspicion in absentia under Part 3 of Art. 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (denial of the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine, justification of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation and glorification of its military formations, repeatedly with the use of the media).

Measures are currently being taken to bring the propagandist to justice.

Shaman attended the inauguration of dictator Vladimir Putin and claimed that the event had energized him, and that it is with this mood that he finished his concert in the town of Ramenskoye near Moscow.

Later, he was subjected to EU sanctions. Since June 24, 2024, he has had only two options - to earn bloody rubles in Russia itself or in its biggest "partners" - North Korea and Iran, where it is unlikely that people know who he is at all.

Moreover, last August, he boasted of performances at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and in the temporarily occupied Mariupol. The pro-war artist called the Ukrainian settlements captured by the Russian army "Novorossiya" and staged a show right where innocent Ukrainians were killed.
