"So sincere and simple": the chef of a Canadian restaurant spoke about the behavior of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, which impressed him

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited Canada, where they went on a double date with popular Canadian singer Michael Bublé and his actress wife Luisana Lopilato. The couple visited Vij's restaurant in Vancouver.

The chef Vikram Vij had the opportunity to meet and talk to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He admitted that he was impressed by the simplicity and sincerity of the royals, PEOPLE magazine reports.

According to the chef, Meghan and Harry allowed him to create a menu for them on his own. However, the daughter-in-law of the King of Great Britain clarified that she prefers spicy dishes.

"They were very friendly and nice. They came and talked to the kitchen staff and very respectfully let me choose the food as the chef. I said I was going to cook something for them. I asked them if they had any allergies or anything they didn't want. Megan said that she likes spicy food," Vij said.

According to the chef, he prepared four appetizers for all four celebrity visitors using local products, adding spicy Indian spices to one of them.

In addition to the delicious appetizers, Vij also surprised guests with a variety of main courses, including "lamb rack-like ice cream with pickled mustard and sweet white wine in a creamy fenugreek curry," which he said he had already prepared for Prince William and Kate Middleton during their visit to Vancouver in 2016.

Prince Harry liked the lamb, while his wife enjoyed the goat meat, to which she asked for more chili pepper.

The chef said that an "amazing" moment happened at the end of the evening when Meghan noticed that the kitchen staff were watching her and asked if she could go and thank them.

"My kitchen is staffed exclusively by women. They're all my aunts, sisters and people who have been working with me for over 30 years, so they were very excited because they were thinking: 'Oh my God, someone this big is coming through the kitchen'... It was very respectful," said Widge.

He added that Meghan and Harry demonstrated a strong bond with each other through their behavior during the evening. According to the chef, love and respect are very evident in the couple's relationship.

The chef shared a photo with the Duke and Duchess on his personal Instagram page, where he also left some warm words for his distinguished guests. He noted that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle impressed him with their simplicity.

"What a magical evening! I had an incredible pleasure meeting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! They are such sincere and simple people. I feel grateful for such unforgettable moments! A memorable night," the chef commented.
