Slovenia's Eurovision representative got into a pro-Russian scandal because of the band "Tatu": how she justified herself

This year's representative of Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest, Raiven, got into a pro-Russian scandal, outraging Ukrainian Euro fans. The star said that in the past she was a fan of the Russian band Tatu, which is now silencing the war and financing Russia.

The Eurovision participant shared this revelation with a photo of the artists on Instagram but later deleted it. According to the Eurofans Telegram channel, the star responded to the outraged comments of Ukrainians and admitted her guilt.

According to the singer herself, she did not know where the band was formed. The artist apologized and added that she does not support Russian aggression in any way.

"Oh, my God, no! I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention at all! I didn't even think they were Russian. I just loved their music when I was a kid. That's all. I am categorically against Russian violence. I sincerely apologize for what happened," Raiven replied and deleted the post.

In the comments, she was praised for her quick and correct reaction and also noted that the artist's team or she was responsible for everything.

As a reminder, Raiven will perform in Malmö this year with her song "Veronika." At present, her chances of winning are not very high. Slovenia ranks 21st in the bookmaker's ranking.

By the way, recently the Swedish winner of the song contest, Loreen, wanted to perform at the Dream Music Fest 2024 festival on the shores of the Caspian Sea. The event is organized by pro-Putin oligarch Emin Agalarov.
