Nancy McKenzie, a dubbing actress best known for her role as the Spanish Marge Simpson in "The Simpsons" animated series for Latin American audiences, has died. She was 81 years old.

McKenzie voiced the animated character for the first 15 seasons in Latin America. Former colleagues shared the news of her death on social media, Deadline reports.

"It is with deep sadness that the Simpson children (Lisa and Bart) announce the passing of our beloved mother, Marge Simpson (Nancy McKenzie)," reads an Instagram post by Patricia Acevedo, who voices Lisa Simpson for Latin America.

McKenzie was born in Lima, Peru, and made a career in Mexico as a dubbing actress. In addition to voicing Marge on "The Simpsons", McKenzie's voice has also been featured on Disney villain "Cruella de Vil", Daphne in "The Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby-Doo", and "Sailor Moon Space".
