She wanted to take a photo with the star: Britney Spears was beaten by a bodyguard of a famous athlete. Photo

The celebrity turned to the police

The American singer Britney Spears shared the story of how she was hit by the bodyguard of Victor Wembanyama. The vocalist is a fan of the 19-year-old San Antonio Spurs basketball player, so she wanted to take a picture with him. Before talking to the guy, the celebrity tapped him on the shoulder to attract his attention. A few seconds later, she fell to the floor because of a punch from a security guard.

As Spears wrote on Instagram, she was beaten in front of a huge crowd. The incident took place at the popular celebrity venue Catch at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. According to sources, the security guard hit her with the back of his hand, mistaking the 41-year-old for an obsessive fan (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"His bodyguard (Victor Wembanyama - Ed.) immediately hit me in the face in front of the crowd. He almost knocked me down, but my glasses flew off. People come up to me all the time. That night, a group of 20 fans came up to me. My security did not attack any of them... I am very ashamed to share this story with the world... There is too much physical violence..." - Britney Spears commented on the situation.

The singer continued that she had not received a public apology from the basketball player or his security team. In the morning, the blonde woman reported the attack to the Las Vegas police. Law enforcement officials responded to the incident by treating it as a criminal investigation. The case is to be transferred to the district attorney's office soon.

"I think it's important to share this story and call on society to treat all people with respect... And I don't think this is a joke. I treasure the huge amount of love and support I am receiving at the moment. Thank you to the Las Vegas police and detectives for their support," the American woman wrote in her blog.

Victor Wembanyama himself commented on the incident. The player told reporters that he heard someone repeatedly call out to him, but he did not stop to avoid creating a large crowd. "I didn't see what happened because I was walking straight and they said: "Don't stop". But this person grabbed me from behind. She grabbed my shoulder and all I know is that the guards pushed her away. I don't know how hard they pushed her away. I did not stop to look, but continued walking to enjoy a delicious dinner," the Frenchman said.

Recently, OBOZREVATEL reported that the probable cause of Madonna's hospitalisation was a drug overdose. In a medical facility, the 64-year-old star was injected with Narcan, which is usually used to eliminate suspicions of illegal drug use.
