"She wanted to be nominated": Angelina Jolie's reaction to her failure at the Oscars

Jolie is devastated because she missed out on the Oscar

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie was upset that she was not nominated for an Oscar for her role as Maria Callas, in which she poured her heart and soul. The celebrity admitted that she had to learn to sing for a long time to star in the Netflix biopic Maria.

Insiders told Rage Six that the actress was devastated when the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the nominees. Netflix was also unhappy that the film was not nominated for an Oscar in the Best Picture category.

"Angelina is devastated. Look at the work she's been doing because of the movie. She wanted to be nominated," the source said. "She went to the Jimmy Fallon show, her first late-night show in over a decade. She even went to the Gotham awards and did all these covers."

Another source said that Jolie was not nominated for an Oscar because of the hype surrounding her scandalous divorce from Brad Pitt. According to the insider, Hollywood supports the actor and does not intend to oppose him.

Pitt and Jolie finalized their divorce in December. The intense litigation lasted for eight years. According to lawyer James Simon, the actress is very "exhausted" because of this.

This year, Mikey Madison (Anora), Fernanda Torres (I'm Still Here), Demi Moore (Substance), Carla Sofia Gascon (Emilia Perez), and Cynthia Erivo (Wicked) were nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars.

Jolie won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the film An Interrupted Life in 2000. in 2009, she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for the film The Switch. In 2013, she also won the Gene Hersholt Award.
