Shannen Doherty dreamed of children and dreaded chemotherapy. It became known what worried the Beverly Hills neighborhood star the most before her death
American actress Shannen Doherty passed away on July 13 at the age of 53. In one of her Let's Be Clear podcasts, the Beverly Hills star said that she had been trying to become a mother for a long time until she learned about her cancer, and the thought of treatment caused her great anxiety.
The celebrity's desire to get pregnant directly affected the process of fighting breast cancer, People writes. The repeated chemotherapy, which became known three weeks before her death, was the biggest concern for the American in her last days.
Shannen Doherty has been trying to get pregnant for several years, using all possible methods. According to the actress, she repeatedly decided to undergo artificial insemination because she wanted to have children together with her then boyfriend Kurt Iswarienko: "I wanted a child not only for myself, but also for my husband. I wanted it to be for our marriage. I wanted him to realize this part of himself as well."
The star had to stop trying to become a mother in 2019, when the disease "returned" after a long remission, in the form of stage 4 metastatic cancer.
The next challenge for the artist, which worried her before her death, was undergoing chemotherapy, the Daily Mail writes. She noted that this type of treatment is very difficult because it depletes the body.
"It broke me down in the sense that yes, I knew I had stage four, and yes, I knew it was really serious, but when you have to go to the hospital and you have to have a port put in, it becomes very real in an incredibly different way," Shannen Doherty said in a podcast.
According to the actress, neither she nor the doctors could have predicted the results of chemotherapy. This factor caused her the most anxiety and worry.
