Shannen Doherty, 52, who is battling stage four cancer, has admitted who she doesn't want to see at her funeral
Famous American actress Shannen Doherty, who is suffering from the fourth stage of breast cancer, admitted that she is already thinking about her own funeral, so she is gradually planning it. These thoughts, according to the star of the cult TV series "All Women Are Witches" and "Beverly Hills, 90210," break her heart.
According to Hello magazine, in an episode of her own podcast, Let's Be Clear, the actress, in particular, frankly told whom she wants and, more importantly, does not want to see at her funeral. Thus, Doherty does not want people who "don't really care" about her now to see her off.
"I think there are going to be a lot of people there that I don't want to see," the 52-year-old celebrity immediately said.
Such thoughts, as the actress assured, are due to the fact that some people attend funerals not because of sincere affection for the deceased, but because of social duty or for "show."
"I don't want people to cry or for people to say things in secret: 'Thank God that bitch is dead,'" the seriously ill star added.
Doherty emphasized that she wants her farewell to be "full of love and authenticity." She wants a ceremony that truly reflects the relationships she cherished. She would like to avoid any signs of superficiality or pretense at her funeral.
It should be noted that in 2015, the actress was first diagnosed with breast cancer, after which she underwent a mastectomy (surgical removal of the mammary glands - ed.), chemotherapy and radiation. In 2017, the celebrity announced that she had gone into remission, and two years later, the cancer returned. Shannen Doherty said that she suffers from stage 4 metastatic cancer.
While fighting the disease, Shannen also experienced personal hardships, including in her marriage. Photographer Kurt Isvarienko left the actress after 11 years of marriage just before a crucial surgery to remove a tumor from her brain. It was a severe blow to Dougherty, who later said she felt depressed and betrayed.
In addition, as you know, Doherty had a lot of conflicts with her co-stars in the TV series "All Women Are Witches" and "Beverly Hills, 90210" in her youth. For example, a tense relationship with Alyssa Milano surfaced. However, in 2021, Milano admitted that she regretted the long-standing feud and has been trying to contact Shannen ever since.
