Colombian singer Shakira canceled her concert in Peru, which was to take place on the evening of February 16, due to a deteriorating health condition. The 48-year-old artist was urgently hospitalized on the eve of the performance because she had abdominal problems.

The performer announced this on her Instagram. According to The Guardian, the show was to be held as part of the star's first world tour in seven years.

"I'm sad to inform you that I had to go to the emergency room because of abdominal problems. Now I am in the clinic. The doctors under my care have informed me that my condition is not good enough to perform for you tonight," the celebrity wrote.

Shakira noted that she hopes to be discharged from the hospital soon, so she will be able to perform for her fans. In addition, according to the star, her team is already working on organizing a new concert in Peru, so fans will soon be informed of the new date of the show.

"Thank you all for your messages of love. You give me a lot of strength! I love you with all my heart," the artist addressed her fans.

Shakira started her seventh world tour Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran on February 11, 2025 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. By the end of June, the artist plans to give about 50 concerts in Latin America, and then appear on the stages of the United States and Canada.
