Russian Bolshoi Theater punishes screenwriters who opposed the war and supported Ukraine

The Bolshoi Theater of Russia changed its repertoire because of the war

Russia's largest opera and ballet theater has faced a significant reduction in its program, as the management was forced to "punish" scriptwriters who opposed the war with Ukraine. Since the Kremlin demands that artists publicly support genocide, and "zombie" Russians are frantically writing "denunciations," the Bolshoi Theater of the Russian Federation has refused to stage performances written by sane people.

General Director Vladimir Urin said this in an interview with propagandists. He also accidentally mentioned that some authors forbid actors from Russia to perform their plays.

The head of the Bolshoi Theater admitted that he had to change the repertoire due to the full-scale war, which Urin cynically called "a change in the socio-political situation."

The first reason is legal. The creators of certain plays often force Russians to abandon them and not to show them on their stage. In this case, the propagandists point to their contracts and claim that anti-war writers have no right to demand that they stop performing until the license expires.

This applies to neutral productions that do not cause a public outcry. In more high-profile cases, when the audience complains about the position of a playwright, the Bolshoi Theater itself publicly "punishes" civilized people by removing their works from the agenda.

"When certain creators of plays spoke out very clearly about the special operation, their names disappeared from the posters. Naturally, when there is a certain wave of indignant letters and other statements, the theater and the Ministry of Culture are well aware that this causes a very serious negative reaction. This was also the reason for the removal of certain performances from the repertoire," Urin boasted.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL wrote that a team of Putinist comedians who went to the occupied Donetsk region and called the terrorists "defenders" were punished in Kazakhstan. Read more about this here.
