On Monday, 3 July, it became known that the grandson of the iconic American actor Robert De Niro had died. Leonardo was only 20 years old.

The boy's mother, the adopted daughter of Hollywood star Dren De Niro, reported the grief in the family. The 51-year-old woman wrote a touching post about her late son and also showed his photo (to see it, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"My beautiful sweet angel. I loved you beyond words and descriptions from the moment I felt you in my belly. You were my joy, my heart and everything that has ever been pure and true in my life. I wish I could be with you right now. I wish I could be with you. I don't know how to live without you, but I will try to carry on and spread the love and light that you made me feel by being your mum. You were so deeply loved and appreciated, and I wish that love alone could have saved you. I am so sorry, my baby. May you rest in peace in eternal paradise, my dear boy," De Niro's daughter wrote in her profile.

The text moved Internet users to tears. In the comments, they left words of support for the grieving mother, as well as condolences over the death of the very young Leonardo.

She did not disclose the cause of Drena's death.

It should be added that Leandro's father was the artist Carlos Rodriguez. The actor's daughter often posted photos of herself and her son together, talking about her mother's great love for her heir.

It is also worth noting that Drena de Niro is Robert de Niro's adopted daughter, whom he adopted through his marriage to actress and singer Dianne Abbott (1976-1988). This marriage also produced a son, Raphael.
