A public scandal erupted between the world-famous American actor Robert De Niro and former US President Donald Trump. The 80-year-old winner of two Oscars called the defendant a "clown" during a court hearing on Trump's case in New York.

He added that New York has a place for "clowns who do crazy things on the street." He said that this is a normal thing for the Big Apple, where eccentrics are part of the local culture. However, even for New York, Trump's presence is unpleasant, the actor emphasized.

The offended politician responded to the artist in his sarcastic manner by writing a post on Truth Social, a social network owned by his company.

"I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, the former actor Robert De Niro was. Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have plummeted in value since he entered the political arena at the request of the corrupt Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad there," Trump wrote.
