Quest Pistols exonerated for their scandalous performance in Bali where Russians were present

The popular Ukrainian band Quest Pistols, which reunited in 2022 after more than a 10-year hiatus to help Ukraine, has been caught up in a high-profile scandal over a recent performance in Bali. The private party where the musicians sang was attended, in particular, by Russians. The members of the collective commented on the heath in their address, assuring that they did not know about the guests from the terrorist country. In addition, according to the artists, the organization of their performance at the corporate party was handled by a Ukrainian company.
Participants of Quest Pistols said that they performed at the birthday party of a citizen of Kazakhstan, so most of those present were from there. Clarifications were released on the official page of the collective in Instagram.
"The performance was at the birthday party of Rafael Romain, a Kazakh citizen, not for Russians. There were mostly citizens of Kazakhstan. We were invited by an event agency from Ukraine, they were organizing the event", - assured the artists.
The musicians also justified themselves for singing their Russian-language tracks. They said that part of the repertoire has already been translated into their native language and now they are in the process of writing new Ukrainian-language songs, but they continue to perform old untranslated hits at concerts.
The network showed that the corporate party was attended by people who either live or periodically visit Moscow. In particular, the photo of a certain Roxana Geller, who published a photo from the Russian capital in her profile, was spread.
Quest Pistols responded to this: "The audience shouted "Glory to Ukraine!" and these videos also go around the network.... There were a few people among the guests, kind of Russians. We probably don't know about their citizenship. They were not holding a passport at the time of the event. A reproach that judging by social networks they visit Moscow periodically. So, everyone can see that the photo of Roxana Geller, which is posted as evidence, is the last one in her social networks from Russia, it is dated 2021, because the person is in emigration."
Ukrainians were most outraged by the fact that the birthday boy, who was entertained by Ukrainian artists, posted InstaStories in his social networks after the holiday, in which he sang the track "I am Russian" by the disgraced Kremlin jester SHAMAN. The Quest Pistols members explained that it was allegedly a mock propaganda song.
"In his social networks there is a video to the song of the band Kalush Orchestra - Stefania, where the man allegedly shows how with friends preparing for the victory of Ukraine. Rafael posted that storis after our performance, the next day. He signed it as "cringe is already in town", but it was not paid attention to for some reason. And Cringe means - it is a concept describing everything that is disgusting, unpleasant, shows shame and indignation," - said the performers.
The artists also urged "not to look for betrayal where there is none", assuring that their team is doing everything possible to bring Ukraine's victory in the war closer, and part of the money in various percentages from their private and public events goes to help the Foundations, as well as personally to the military.
However, even this did not convince some fans. Thus, under the post, some commenters wrote: "What kind of excuses? What at all during the war you b*tch can go to perform at someone's dr? In Bali? In Bakhmut there will be a performance?", "If you were going to a concert, there is no question (popularization of Ukrainian), but this is just someone's corporate party, disappointed with you."
Earlier OBOZREVATEL wrote that in a similar scandal got into a similar scandal host Ostapchuk, who held the birthday party of the Odessa woman Julia Buryak, who a few years ago married Russian businessman Leonid Arapov nicknamed "aluminum king". At the holiday of the Ukrainian there were guests from the Russian Federation, of which the presenter allegedly did not know.
