Prykhodko emotionally stood up for the Russian language and spoke in the words of propagandists
Ukrainian singer Anastasia Prykhodko, without holding back her emotions, publicly stood up for the language of the aggressor country. According to the artist, she is not to blame for the fact that all subjects were taught in Russian when she was at school and added that in her opinion, people who are raising the language issue today are simply quarreling with our people.
In addition, the 37-year-old singer decided to use a popular propaganda narrative, noting that the Russian-speaking population is constantly being persecuted in Ukraine. She spoke about this in an interview on the YouTube channel "Vlast vs Vlashchenko".
"I keep saying that for me, anyone who has a Ukrainian passport is a Ukrainian. I am not to blame for the fact that when I was studying at Lysenko School, I was taught everything in Russian. It is not my fault that politicians did not promote Ukrainian culture. I could easily communicate in Russian. In 2014, I decided for myself that I had to know the Ukrainian language if I was to defend the interests of my country. But I should not impose it on others," the star said.
According to Anastasia Prykhodko, every citizen of our homeland is obliged to know their native language, but not to speak it. To prove her point, the artist cited the example of refugees who fled the bloody war and went to Germany. She recalled that during the Second World War, the inhabitants of this country did a lot of bad things for Ukraine. The singer wonders why there are no questions about refugees now.
The celebrity added that until 2014, no one cared what language people spoke. According to Prykhodko, then all Ukrainians lived in peace and harmony and traveled from city to city without any problems. However, in her opinion, at some point there were people who began to quarrel with our fellow citizens because of the language.
"Why did I decide to record the interview in Russian today? To support my citizens who have Ukrainian passports. Because now many people will come from Kurakhiv, Kupyansk, Pokrovsk, and half of them do not speak Ukrainian. And should I turn away? I have no right to, because it's war. We have to lend each other a helping hand, not constantly humiliate, insult, harass, and force us to do something," the singer said.
As a reminder, in September 2023, Anastasia Prykhodko got into a loud scandal after she publicly congratulated pro-Russian journalist Max Nazarov (real name Nazar Diorditsa) on his birthday. On her social media, the singer posted a photo with a propagandist who worked for NewsOne, a TV channel owned by Taras Kozak, a collaborator of the OPFL party, and unofficially owned by Putin's godfather, Viktor Medvedchuk. He also appeared on the NASH channel of another pro-Russian politician, Yevhen Muraiev. The man shot many provocative videos and promoted narratives that could have set Ukrainians at odds.
As early as 2024, Prykhodko spoke out against Ukraine's accession to the European Union. According to the singer, this could affect the labor market, which would allegedly be flooded with foreigners, increase utility rates, and cause bureaucratic problems. However, the artist listed the negative aspects, focusing on the unsuccessful experience of several specific countries, which she translated to the entire European Union.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that the controversial Supermom contestant stood up for the Russian language because she "cannot think in Ukrainian."
