The royal family of Liechtenstein has announced the engagement of Crown Prince Alois's daughter, Princess Maria Carolina, to Leopoldo Maduro Vollmer. Although the monarchs do not disclose the details of the couple's relationship, it is known that the lovers live in London.

Princess Maria, who is not the heir to the throne, currently works in the fashion industry in the British capital, while her future husband is engaged in investment management. This was reported by HELLO. The royal house also confirmed that the wedding will take place in late summer next year, and the venue has not yet been disclosed.

Marie Caroline, 28, the second child of Prince Alois and his wife Sophie, was born in Switzerland, where she was educated. She later attended Malvern College in Worcestershire, England, and then studied fashion design at the Parsons School of Design in Paris and New York.

Leopoldo, 33, who was born in Caracas, Venezuela, was also educated in the UK, studying at Harrow School and the University of St. Andrews, and later completed postgraduate studies at Queens College, University of Cambridge.

Maria Carolina will be the first of Alois and Sophie's four children to tie the knot. The couple are also the parents of Prince Joseph Wenzel, Prince Georg, and Prince Nikolaus. Prince Alois, 56, has been the Regent of Liechtenstein since 2004, while his father, 79-year-old Hans-Adam II, remains the official head of state.

It is the only European monarchy that operates under the rules of agnatic primogeniture, which means that women are excluded from the throne and the line of succession. Located between Austria and Switzerland, Liechtenstein is the fourth smallest country in Europe with a population of only 40 thousand people.
