Princess Anne commented for the first time on the injury which led to her being hospitalized with a concussion: she doesn't remember anything
Princess Anne, the sister of King Charles III of England, first spoke about the injury she sustained when a horse hit her on the head in the summer of 2024. Her hobby of horseback riding then turned into a several-day hospital stay with a concussion. Now, the 74-year-old princess says she "doesn't remember anything" from the moment of the kick.
After the incident, air ambulances and emergency services rushed to the scene and took her to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, England. She spent five days there under medical supervision, the Daily Mail reported.
Speaking on January 24 at the Grand Military Cup Day in Esher, Surrey, the princess shared her memories of that day. She said that she was on her way to inspect the chickens at her estate, but she did not remember the details of the accident.
"No, I don't even remember that (walking through the field before the accident – Ed.). I know where I thought I was going, and it was to the chickens, nothing to do with horses," the princess said. "It just... shows that you never know for sure that something will happen and you might not recover."
When asked about the possible long-term consequences of the injury, the princess responded humorously: "Probably not, at least I don't think so. As far as I know, no one else thinks so – they haven't been honest enough to tell me yet. So far, so good. You are sharply reminding yourself that every day is a bonus."
The royal also addressed the topic of retirement, stating that retirement is "not part of her plans." The princess remains an active member of the royal family and performs several official duties, supporting her brother Charles III.
