Prince Harry received an award that caused a scandal earlier: Meghan Markle supported him in an exquisite look

Prince Harry received the award and made a speech

British Prince Harry received the prestigious Pat Tillman Award at the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles, a nomination for which he had previously been criticized. The Duke of Sussex was honored for founding the Invictus Games, a Paralympic competition for wounded military personnel.

Although the award was presented to the son of King Charles III, he noted on stage that it actually belonged to "the thousands of veterans and military personnel from 20 countries who made the Invictus Games a reality," ABC News reports.

"It is very important to me to recognize these allies, athletes, and their amazing families for their accomplishments, spirit, and courage at every opportunity. Especially on nights like tonight, in front of people like you," Harry proclaimed.

The prince, who served in the British army for 10 years, organized the first Invictus Games in London in 2014. Later, the competition was held in other countries.

Harry also thanked the Tillman family for the honor and military distinction. Interestingly, before the ceremony, the family of the deceased football player Pat Tillman, who gave up his sports career for service, were unhappy that the prince was nominated for the award. They believed that other soldiers deserved the honor.

Former actress Meghan Markle came to the award ceremony with her husband, who was sincerely happy for Harry. The public person and mother of two wore a luxurious white floor-length dress that set off her tanned skin.

The prince's wife wore her dark hair in an elegant up-do, revealing her bare back. Meghan Markle's look was restrained but sophisticated at the same time, as befits members of the royal family.
