Police reveal details of the death of 56-year-old Irish music legend Sinead O'Connor
On 26 July, the legendary Irish singer, composer and activist Sinead O'Connor, who was only 56 years old, passed away. Police found the artist's body in her apartment in London.
Sky News reports this, citing sources in law enforcement. The police received a report of an "unresponsive woman" at 11:18 am.
Arriving at the address, law enforcement officers found the lifeless body of the famous singer. Doctors soon pronounced the star dead.
O'Connor's relatives have been informed that the death will not be treated as suspicious. The case will be prepared for the coroner, an official who investigates sudden deaths.

The exact cause of O'Connor's death has not yet been disclosed, but a number of foreign media outlets indicate that the artist was "taken" by cancer, which she had been fighting in recent years. In addition, she had serious mental problems. The situation became more complicated after the tragic loss of her son, who committed suicide in January 2022.
A week after the suicide of 17-year-old Shane, the singer also tried to commit suicide. She wrote on social media that she had "decided to follow her son" because she saw no point in living without him, and also called herself "shit". This episode from the singer's past led some fans to speculate that she had made another suicide attempt, which this time proved fatal.

Sinead is survived by three other children - sons Jake Reynolds and Joshua Francis Neal and daughter Roisin.
