Police in India interrupt Ed Sheeran's street concert and give reason: the singer reacted. Video
British singer Ed Sheeran found himself at the center of an unexpected incident in India. During an impromptu performance on Church Street in Bengaluru, the police stopped the concert because he had no official permission to sing in a public place. The police, not recognizing the musician, asked him to leave the scene.
Sheeran is in India as part of his tour and is preparing for a big concert at the NICE Grounds in Madhavar. The incident was reported by The Times of India.
"British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran was stopped by Bengaluru police during an impromptu concert on Church Street on Sunday as he did not have the necessary permits," the police said.
Despite the situation on the street, the singer assured that everything was planned: "We had a permit to perform, so we played in this particular place, it was planned in advance, not just that we happened to be there. Everything is fine. See you at the concert tonight".
At the time of the incident, Ed Sheeran was performing his super hit Shape of You, known almost all over the world. Then a police officer approached him, knelt down and turned off the microphone, interrupting his performance.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that a devoted fan of Ed Sheeran married the star's lookalike. Previously, the bride only joked about going down the aisle with a celebrity, but "the joke got out of hand".
