Opera diva Olena Hrebeniuk spoke about her 16-year-old daughter's work: studying has taken a back seat

Opera singer Olena Hrebeniuk, who has worked at the Kyiv Opera for 25 years, shared the details of her 16-year-old daughter Yelyzaveta's life. The teenager put her studies on the back burner and focused all her attention on the professional development of the barista profession.

Olena Hrebeniuk told "Breakfast with 1+1" that she became interested in the coffee business at the age of 14 and took a course. Since then, she has been working and developing professionally. However, Yelyzaveta's college studies are just for show.

"My daughter is a very capricious child. She has been working for two years. She doesn't want to study, but she understands that it is necessary. She has found this way of life for herself, and I don't mind," says Olena Hrebeniuk. She went to a course and taught herself. She was 14 years old then, and now she's 16."

The opera diva, who left the stage of the Kyiv Opera in the fall of 2024, said that her daughter did not plan to continue studying at school in grades 10-11, so she immediately started earning her own money as soon as possible. Because she has chosen to pursue a career in coffee, she now dreams of owning her own coffee shop.

"She finished 9th grade, and then she chose her own path – she went to college. She studies like I'm singing with you now, but it doesn't matter. She knows what work is. She already wants to open her own coffee shop. She knows what it's all about, and it made her a different person," the singer added.
