"My self-esteem fell." Dasha Tregubova tells how she turned to psychologists because of Oksana Marchenko

Ukrainian actress and TV presenter Dasha Tregubova recalled how she was thrown mud because of her role as host of the last 10 seasons of The X Factor. The fans were so used to the then best TV star Oksana Marchenko, who had hosted all the previous nine seasons, that they could not accept the change of personnel. Because of the massive hate, Tregubova even had to see two psychologists to recover from the massive slander.

However, in an interview with Alina Dorotiuk, she said that she had often turned to psychologists before, but at that time she realized that she needed urgent help because of the viewers' revolt on social media. Tregubova read every comment in search of constructive criticism, but the offensive statements hit her self-esteem hard. Later, even Andrii Danylko advised her not to read the comments at all.

"I was not ready for this. I had seen a psychologist before. And then I went to a psychologist and two of them... I told them I was very upset and my self-esteem had fallen, it was very unpleasant," the actress said.

A visit to a psychologist was very important for the TV presenter back then. And now she considers visits to this specialist a must for the future of Ukraine to be happy and good.

"In general, I think that a psychologist is no worse than a dentist and other doctors, whom you need to go to for some time to solve your problems. And this is also part of our future in Ukraine, in my opinion. People who have learned to respect each other, people who visit a psychologist before writing a comment online, and people who are responsible for their words. These are very simple things. I would like everything to rest on these whales [a reference to the three whales on which the world rests]," Tregubova said.

But the people who wrote angry comments on the actress's social media didn't seem to think about the consequences. They compared the TV hosts and called Oksana Marchenko nicer and more open. According to Tregubova, viewers were unaware of the changes in the show and what was happening behind the scenes and judged only by the picture that was aired.

"They would write, 'Marchenko was so sincere, she loved them so much. And this one! Here she is waving a folder..." There was a funny thing about that season that the project managers decided to edit a little differently. They spent less time supporting me, even though I supported each of the participants. And the participants wrote about it! They wrote: "I am a participant. I was supported, they just didn't show it." And for our people, if they didn't show it, it didn't happen," the TV presenter said.

Today, Tregubova recalls those events with irony. After all, the beloved Oksana Marchenko "exchanged" Ukraine for the "Russian world" together with her husband Viktor Medvedchuk, who is accused of treason.

"But look how funny it is. How many years have passed and you read the comments... Oksana Marchenko, right? You were rooting for Oksana Marchenko..." she summarized.

The actress believes that the mountain of hate that fell on her at the time could have been "paid for" by those who benefited from it. Nowadays, she tries not to comment on any scandal, let alone take a position.

"First of all, I am against scandals. Every shit, every scandal has an ultimate beneficiary. And it's not me. And I'm not going to be it. There is always a person who benefits from it. Or a group of people. That's why I never take part in it. I never discuss it and try not to dive in. Moreover, I do not take sides. I believe that in life you should fight not against something, but for something," the TV presenter explained.
