"Many things coincide": Ukraine's most mystical writer Lada Luzina points to a good sign in the war with Russia

Lada Luzina, "Imagine my horror when in the spring of 2022 I find out that a part of a unique tree was seriously damaged by a hurricane"

The most mystical writer in Ukraine, Lada Luzina, whose field of expertise is Ukrainian folk calendar, claims that the dates that our ancestors considered significant surprisingly coincide with the dates of real fatal events. In particular, she analyzed the most terrible day in modern Ukrainian history - February 24, 2022.

In an interview with OBOZ.UA, Lada Luzina spoke about a mystical event that happened to the oldest linden tree in Kyiv after the Russian invasion. She also explained how it can be symbolically linked to a prediction of the end of the war.

"I study the Ukrainian folk calendar (this is one of my areas of expertise), so I compared the dates. February 24 is the day of Veles (according to the old Ukrainian calendar, Veles' Day)," says Lada Luzina. "You know, I have repeatedly been convinced that the dates that our ancestors considered significant coincide with the dates of real fatal events. I wrote about it in my books ten years ago. But since I used to write fiction only, I considered it to be my own invention. And now I am surprised to see that many things coincide with the crossroads of not only the fates of individual people, but also the one of the whole country."

"I want to tell you another story," the writer continues. "There is a linden tree next to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine at the beginning of St. Andrew's Descent that, according to legend, was planted by Metropolitan Petro Mohyla. The tree reaches a height of ten meters and has a girth of five meters. According to local legends, the Petro Mohyla Tilia grants wishes. You need to make a wish and walk around the tree three times. I often lead excursions there. And imagine my horror when I learned in the spring of 2022 that a hurricane had severely damaged part of the unique tree."

"The huge branches that broke were planned to be destroyed. However, a wonderful artistic decision was later made to create a sculpture out of the debris," adds Luzina. "Its author is a popular artist Kostiantyn Skritutskyi, known, among other things, for making the sculpture set on the Landscape Alley. "And the linden tree itself, thank God, looks good, obviously not planning to die. I think it's symbolic, resembling us. Despite the losses, we will survive."
