Doctor Who legend William Russell has died at the age of 99. The actor became famous in 1956, starring in the series The Adventures of Sir Lancelot.

However, Russell became famous for his role as Ian Chesterton in the BBC sci-fi show Doctor Who, which was released in 1965. This was reported by Metro.
