Latvia initiates criminal case over Jānis Timma's suicide as the basketball player's friend accuses his ex-wife Anna Sedokova of contract killing
The Investigative Committee of Latvia is looking into the death of 32-year-old basketball player Jānis Timma, who committed suicide. On January 3, the country's law enforcement agencies opened a criminal case after the athlete's friend Mark Pugachev accused his ex-wife, singer and traitor of Ukraine Anna Sedokova, of contract killing.
The businessman posted on his social media that he was going to testify against the singer. According to Pravda Latvia, Pugachev believes that the Ukrainian native could have hired people to kill her ex-boyfriend over real estate.
"The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Latvia has opened a criminal case into the violent death of Jānis, in which I am one of the main witnesses," the businessman wrote.
He suggests that Sedokova could have arranged the contract killing of the athlete to get four apartments that the basketball player allegedly bought in Moscow for more than $1 million. However, earlier, the Russian media noted that the Latvian did not own any real estate in Russia, and his property in his homeland had to be sold due to non-payment of alimony.
It's worth noting that when it became known that Jānis Timma committed suicide on December 16, rumors began to spread among the Russian propaganda channels that he decided to take this step because of the singer, who allegedly cheated on him. The fact is that shortly before the tragedy, Sedokova decided to divorce the basketball player, which was an unexpected blow to him.
By the way, this is not the first time Pugachev has made such loud statements about the artist's involvement in the death of Jānis Timma. At the end of December, he stated on his social media that his friend was driven to suicide, and if law enforcement officials had read the ex-spouses' correspondence, Sedokova would have faced imprisonment.
