"Kyiv today had its heart torn out": Stephen King, Jessica Chastain and other world-famous stars react to Russian attack on Okhmatdyt
The July 8 terrorist attack on civilian targets in Kyiv, where, in addition to houses and private buildings, the Okhmatdyt children's hospital was damaged, left no one indifferent. Not only did Ukrainians unite to help children and adults but foreigners also urged their followers not to remain silent about the tragedy.
Many stars who had previously supported the Ukrainian people did not remain silent this time either. OBOZ.UA will tell you what friends of Ukraine think about the Russian attack.
Designer Frank Wilde, who reminds the world of the war in Ukraine every day, announced a demonstration in front of the Russian embassy in Berlin to remind Europe how much Ukrainians need weapons.
"To remind them that peace talks with terrorists who kill children with cancer are impossible. Only Ukraine's armed victory can bring peace. Ukraine must be able to protect its people and children from Russia," the fashion expert wrote.
Timothy Snyder, a well-known historian and professor at Yale University and United24 ambassador, showed horrific videos from the site of the strike and wrote that Russia is bombing children with cancer.
On August 7, 2022, American film and television actress Jessica Chastain personally arrived in Ukraine. The star visited the same Okhmatdyt children's hospital and talked to Ukrainian children who almost died yesterday.
"This morning, Russian missiles struck the very hospital that was filled with children who were already in critical condition when these attacks took place," the star said.
Popular Hollywood actress Jamie Lee Curtis published a heartbreaking post.
"Kyiv today had its heart torn out. Russians hit several districts almost simultaneously and directly targetd the children's hospital - Okhmatdyt. Kyiv took hands today. Thousands of people are clearing the rubble - civilians and military, firefighters, veterans with prosthetics, grandmothers, nurses," the celebrity wrote.
The "King of Horror" Stephen King also mentioned the shelling in his blog. He spoke about the bombed hospital and the 37 dead.
