Kozlovskyi cursed and Lastochkin wanted to break it off: which celebrities cut ties with their Russian relatives
Almost every third Ukrainian has relatives in the terrorist country of Russia, and celebrities are no exception. Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, news regularly appeared online about celebrities talking about their family members and friends who remained living in the neighboring country and their attempts to inspire propaganda narratives.
In order not to be associated with Russia in any way, Ukrainian celebrities cut ties with even their closest relatives. OBOZ.UA decided to recall who lost their parents, who lost their uncle, and who sent their half-sister away.
Vitalii Kozlovskyi
At the beginning of the full-scale war, singer Vitalii Kozlovskyi admitted that he cursed and sent his half-sister away on his father's side. She refused to believe in the war in Ukraine. The singer also has a son of his sister, other relatives, and friends in Russia.
"For the first ten days, I tried to talk to them, to explain, but it was all in vain. I cursed many of them and sent them away. They tell me that you can't do that, you're bringing trouble on yourself. And how can you do that today, when they come to your house and kill everyone?" the singer admitted.

Svitlana Tarabarova
Singer Svitlana Tarabarova has a maternal uncle living in Russia. Since the beginning of the Great War, he has been telling her the usual narratives that the occupiers came to Ukraine not to kill and destroy, but to "save".
Like many Ukrainians, Tarabarova tried to reach out to him, but her attempts were in vain. Moreover, at the time, the artist's parents were under occupation in the Kherson region. For a long time, they put themselves in danger while the city was constantly shelled by the occupiers.

Ihor Lastochkin
Actor and comedian Igor Lastochkin was born in Kazakhstan but has Ukrainian citizenship. His father and brother live in the aggressor country. He believes that his father, after suffering from alcohol addiction, became dumb and easily influenced by Russian propaganda. But the actor's brother is indifferent not only to the war and the high probability of death of his loved ones due to rocket attacks but also to his own life. Today, Ihor Lastochkin has completely stopped communicating with his relatives.
"They were all silent. I wrote to them the second week: "You animals, do you even give a f*ck what's going on here? What's wrong with me?" They replied: "Mom told you not to write". Mom realized that I wanted to tear them all apart for their inaction and cowardice," Lastochkin commented.

Oleksii Sukhanov
TV presenter Oleksii Sukhanov spent most of his life in Russia, but in 2014 he moved to Ukraine to live and build his career. His parents remained in their homeland, but the celebrity does not blame them for this decision.
In 2022, Sukhanov said that on February 24, his mother called him and urged him to return home, to which he replied that he was not going to do so because his real home was Ukraine.
"My mother called me at the beginning of the full-scale invasion and said: "Come back home already." I answered: "What do you mean? My home is here. Maybe you haven't realized it since 2014, but my home is here. And I have no other home," the host recalled.

Slava Diomin
The host Slava Diomin hasn't spoken to his mother since 2016. Although the woman lives in Spain, not Russia, she sincerely shares the policies of dictator Vladimir Putin and attends rallies in support of the war. The terrible relationship and her hatred for Ukraine forced Demin to cut ties with her family.
