King Charles and Queen Camilla officially open the Eurovision Song Contest stage in Liverpool. Video.

The world saw the stage design for the first time

A few days ago, it became known that King Charles of Great Britain and his wife Queen Camilla would visit Liverpool on a special "mission". The monarch was entrusted with switching on the lights on the Eurovision stage. On April 26, they arrived in the British city, where the lights were solemnly switched on at the M&S Bank arena, which will host the song contest in May.

This was reported by the Daily Mail. In addition, the royals met the hosts of Eurovision 2023, including Ukrainian singer and frontwoman of The Hardkiss Yulia Sanina (to see photos and videos, scroll to the end of the page).

Charles and Camilla also spoke to BBC Director General Tim Davie, BBC Content Director Charlotte Moore, BBC Eurovision 2023 Managing Director Martin Green and the UK participant May Mueller. By the way, England has not hosted the song contest for 25 years.

For the event, His Majesty wore a navy blue suit with a white shirt, and the Queen Consort chose a dress, a deep blue coat and suede heels. They saw the final result of the hall's decoration, where the best vocalists from the participating countries will perform. The idea of decorating the stage is to create the impression that the contest is "opening Ukraine's hugs to the world".

The International Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be held in Liverpool on behalf of Ukraine on May 9 and 11 (first and second semi-finals) and May 13 (grand final). 37 countries will take part in the event. Ukraine will be represented by TVORCHI with the song Heart of Steal. The band will perform in the grand final at number 19.

More recently, OBOZREVATEL informed about the place of Ukraine at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. According to forecasts, TVORCHI will be among the top three, but will not take first place. Who could be the winner of the show - read our article.
