She announced her cancer diagnosis back in the spring, on March 22. During her illness, and when Middleton recovered and was able to work from home, she received information about her project on early childhood.

The initiative explores "how early childhood experiences are often the root cause of today's most serious social problems, such as addiction, family breakdown, poor mental health, suicide, and homelessness," according to the official website of the British monarchs.

Kate has made two public appearances: in mid-June at the Trooping the Color ceremony and on July 14 at Wimbledon. At the moment, the only event she is "potentially" scheduled to attend is a Sunday service in support of the Royal Family, veterans and their families on November 10. Next month, she plans to hold her annual carol concert at Westminster Abbey.
