Ivan Dorn spoke about the incident with Andrii Khlyvniuk on M1: the Boombox leader ran out of the studio on air

Ivan Dorn told about the incident with Andrii Khlyvniuk on the M1 highway

The controversial singer Ivan Dorn, who was born in Chelyabinsk, Russia, but spent his childhood and youth in Ukraine and claims to be a Ukrainian, recalled an incident that happened to him during the filming of a morning show with Andrii Khlyvniuk. The leader of the band Boombox was a guest on Guten Morgen on M1 when Dorn was the host of the program from 2008 to 2010.

During the live broadcast, the singer could not pronounce Andrii Khlyvniuk's surname correctly, calling him "Khvylniuk". At first, the frontman did not correct or comment on the incorrect pronunciation, but later he got nervous and left the studio. Dorn spoke about this in an interview with Kazakhs for the DOPE SOZ YouTube channel.

"I had a moment when I was working as a host on M1, where in the morning I meet guests with Vasylyna Frolova. And Andrii comes in and I call him 'Mr. Khvylniuk'. On the fifth time, he just stands up and says: "When you learn my last name, then call me" and walks off the air. And this is a live broadcast. I ran after him into the corridor to try to make a decision. The director said to me: "Well, go solve the problem. Didn't you learn it?" Hvylniuk-Hvylniuk, you know?" Dorn recalls.

He admits that he has memorized the correct spelling of Andrii Khlyvniuk's name forever. The artist now recalls this incident with a smile.

"I remembered his name forever after that. Khlyvniuk. And I'm Khlyvniuk [spoke during the live broadcast at the time]. I can already see him blushing in front of me. I think I'm doing something wrong. He's not talking at all," the artist continued.

It is worth noting that Ivan Dorn has been blurring the borders with citizens of the aggressor country since the beginning of Russia's terrorist war under the pretext of speaking to Kazakhs, Uzbeks, and other people who understand Russian. All his work was, as he says, "pumping eggs" between the two countries, and he spoke Ukrainian for a short period after February 22, 2024, only because it was a new reinterpretation of the language, and now he uses it only when necessary.

The controversial artist lived in the Russian Federation for only two years and then moved with his family to Ukraine because of his father's work. According to Dorn, he was always in the information bubble of Russian narratives, which is why he was introduced to the Ukrainian language in the 5th grade.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that since February 24, 2022, Ivan Dorn has not set foot on Ukrainian soil because of the fear of mobilization, but despite the fear of being in camouflage, he considers himself a Ukrainian artist who for some reason performs with Russians on the same stage and still spreads Russian culture to the masses.
