"It's a shock for us": Ocean Elzy, The Hardkiss and others demarche over Russian sponsor of Warsaw festival
On the eve there was a scandal around Easy Busy Fest, which was to be held in Warsaw on August 26 with the participation of Ukrainian stars: "Okean Elzy", The Hardkiss, Yaktak, Alyona Alyona, Volodymyr Dantes, Wellboy, Kola and others.
The founder of the Stand with Ukraine Foundation, Natalia Panchenko, published on Facebook shocking information for the artists about the sponsors of the event, who, as it turned out, have ties with Russia. After this fact was made public, Ukrainian performers refused to participate en masse and the festival was canceled (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the page).
"I wondered who was organizing this festival. I looked further and was stunned. Because I couldn't find any information about the organizer of the festival on the website at all, and the sponsors of this event are MixMerkt and Monolith. These two brands belong to the same owners. They are from Russia and, I think, Kazakhstan, who registered their business in Germany and are known for having a chain of "Russian shops" in Europe, which is entering Poland this year," said Natalia Panchenko.
Both the stars and the organizers promptly responded to the post. Easy Busy Fest assured that the band Monolith partially paid for outdoor advertising in Warsaw and has nothing more to do with the festival. Also in the Instagram of the event asked the stars not to refuse to keep the event, which aims to raise funds for Ukrainians.
However, Ukrainian artists refused to perform in Warsaw en masse on August 26 and eventually Easy Busy Fest was canceled.
"It seemed that already everyone on the planet knows that we do not perform at any events if there is even one molecule of representatives of the aggressor country there," "We read this post and are as shocked as you are," the stars expressed before announcing their refusal.
Earlier OBOZREVATEL wrote that the film director Lars von Trier decided to stand up for the Russian occupiers. Danish filmmaker in connection with the upcoming transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine said that "the lives of Russians also matter".
