"It paralyzed me." Zhurakivska speaks about her reaction to the pro-Russian position of her former friend from Mariupol, Ira Gorbachova

Olesia Zhurakivska speaks out about her former friend and colleague from Mariupol, Ira Gorbachova

The famous Ukrainian actress Olesia Zhurakivska honestly admitted that she considered her Russian colleague Ira Gorbachova a friend, so the pro-Russian stance of her once close friend was a real blow to the Ukrainian. It was unexpected both for the star's fans and for people from her Ukrainian environment. The fact is that Gorbachova is a native of Mariupol, the former wife of Ukrainian musician Anton Savlepov. She lived in Kyiv and publicly declared her love for Ukraine, but the full-scale war tore off all the masks.

Zhurakivska says that no matter how painful it was to realize that even friends could turn out to be shameful traitors, she learned to say goodbye to such people and not regret anything. She shared her thoughts in a conversation with Alina Dorotiuk, which was published on the journalist's YouTube channel of the same name.

Zhurakivska found a positive in the fact that Russian actors who worked a lot in Ukraine showed their rotten nature. Thus, according to the celebrity, they closed the way to Ukrainian cinema for themselves forever, freeing up space for domestic talent.

"It was a blow to me when I heard a person I considered my friend say that 'in general, I don't judge'. I was just paralyzed at that moment. But this is the time now. We need to cut ties without looking back. We need more fresh air, more room for maneuver, for creativity. These people will be replaced by people who did not have the opportunity to make a move because everything was raked over the coals to pay them fees," the actress expressed her opinion.

It should be noted that Gorbachova had many friends in the Ukrainian show business. In particular, showman Anatoliy Anatolich recalled how he met the actress at the Kurazh Bazar in Kyiv in 2021. The native of Mariupol then sincerely shouted how much she loved Ukraine.

Obviously, the actress's love has already passed. Now in Russia, she says: "I don't want to deny it and say: "No, no, no, I'm not part of my country, I'm not part of my state, of any process that is happening in my country." And I choose to be here and live here. And this, of course, hit me hard, because 95% of my friends turned their backs on me. It was like the rug was pulled out from under me. They turned away because I did not condemn what was happening."

Earlier, we also wrote how Gorbachova attended the propagandistic Moscow Film Festival after the full-scale invasion, and why Savlepov dumped her.

As OBOZ.UA previously wrote, unlike his former colleague, Savlepov immediately clearly outlined his attitude to Russia and the war. In particular, as part of the Quest Pistols band, whose members reunited in 2022 after more than a 10-year break to help Ukraine, he regularly gives charity concerts. The musicians have also translated a number of their Russian-language hits into Ukrainian. We are talking about the cult track "I am your drug" and the song "You are so beautiful".
