Forensic experts in Los Angeles (USA) have given an opinion on the cause of death of the American actor, star of the cult TV series Friends, Matthew Perry. The autopsy results of the actor's body showed that his death was caused by an accident caused by the "acute effects of ketamine".

Experts concluded that the ketamine in the actor's body at the time of his death could not have been the result of this infusion therapy, as ketamine has a half-life of 3-4 hours at most.

Thus, they concluded that Perry's death was caused by an "unknown route of ketamine use".

"With the high levels of ketamine found in Perry's postmortem blood samples, the main fatal consequences were likely to be due to both excessive cardiovascular stimulation and respiratory depression," the medical examiner's office said in its report. As a result, the actor lost consciousness and drowned.

Ketamine is a strong anesthetic that has become popular in the United States in recent years as an alternative treatment for depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
