In his first interview, the author of Nikolaev Vanek revealed how many people know his real name and when the channel will disappear

Nikolaev Vanek gave an interview in which he shared his thoughts on the channel.

The author of the popular Telegram channel Nikolaev Vanek, which has been anonymously informing Ukrainians about important information about the war and supporting its subscribers for almost two years, has given his first interview. He did not disclose his name, but admitted that he might disappear after Ukraine's victory against Russia.

Elle magazine spoke with the channel's creator. Under the condition of anonymity, Mykolaiv Vanek spoke about the specifics of his work, his style of writing, and his future plans.

The blog of an unknown author from the Mykolaiv region has become a phenomenon in Ukraine, as it has gained more than 2 million subscribers at a frantic pace. The anonymous is cited by the media, the military asks for help, and Ukrainians follow Vanek's posts during every air raid and beyond.

"I think this is probably because the channel is diverse and the content changes from time to time, it all depends on a bunch of factors related to the 'main job'. People trust it because they seem to realize that no one is going to let them down," the source explains his success.

A lot of Ukrainians are interested in who is hiding behind the channel's photo. Some even assume that it is the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, Vitaliy Kim, because he himself gave ambiguous hints in interviews, either agreeing or denying that he runs the popular channel.

"I don't read these versions, and I don't really care what they say. Only about 15 people know the real information, no more, mostly "colleagues in the shop." They are also working for the result, and they don't care about anything else," Vanek said.

He also disclosed that he has been feeling "demotivated and very tired lately," so it is becoming increasingly difficult to "keep the bar high." After Ukraine's victory, the channel will probably just disappear.

"I don't think the channel will exist after the war, at least there are no such plans. I think that the canal will disappear as suddenly as it appeared, but it is still unclear how and when this war will end. Therefore, I have no thoughts about the future format yet," said the anonymous author of the channel.

He wished the Ukrainians to "keep the line" and not to give in to despair because of the tragedy, because the people can pay much more for weakness.
