"I remember, I miss, I love". Sofia Rotaru showed a photo with her late husband, to whom she has been faithful for almost 22 years

The famous Ukrainian singer Sofia Rotaru showed an archival photo with her late husband Anatoly Yevdokimenko. The famous musician's heart stopped beating after three strokes in October 2002, but Sofia continued to love him and remain faithful to him through the years.

The artist regularly posts old photos of herself and the love of her life, and in her captions she addresses her husband in a tender way: "I miss you so much". This time, Rotaru congratulated Yevdokymenko on his birthday by posting an archival shot of them together on InstaStories.

The founder and leader of the Chervona Ruta ensemble would have turned 86 on January 20.

"I remember, I miss, I love," Rotaru captioned the photo of herself smiling in the arms of her companion.

As you know, the musicians were married for almost 35 years, which the singer still calls the happiest period of her life. Together they raised their son Ruslan. They did not separate even during work, because they also worked together. They shared not only happy moments, but also overcame difficulties. In particular, Yevdokymenko provided tremendous support to his beloved when her mother died in 1997. However, soon Anatoliy's own health began to fail.

In 1998, he suffered his first stroke, which partially paralyzed him. He couldn't work, and Rotar had to go on tour on her own. After the concerts, she always hurried home to take care of her sick husband. A year later, she had another stroke. However, at that time, the doctors' prognosis was quite optimistic, and Anatoliy himself showed with his whole appearance that he was on the mend and recovering quickly.

On October 22, 2002, while in Kyiv, Anatoliy Kirillovich felt ill again - his third stroke. Rotaru was on tour in Germany at the time. When she learned about her husband, she canceled all her concerts and flew to him. Obviously, she felt that this meeting would be their last. The next day, on October 23, Yevdokymenko died at the age of 60.

He was able to see the birth of his grandchildren, who were named after their grandparents, Sonya and Tolik.

As OBOZ.UA wrote, in early 2024, when Russia once again attacked civilian Ukrainians with its missiles, Sofia Rotaru supported the victims with her prayers.
