American folk and country singer, nine-time Grammy nominee and activist Joan Baez visited Ukraine. She arrived together with American children's pediatrician and social activist Irvin Redlener and his wife Karen, co-founder of the Ukraine Children's Action Project. The star and her companions visited the IDP camps in Lviv and then traveled to Kyiv.
The performer reported about it on Instagram. She also met with Ukrainian children in Warsaw, who made dumplings for her, dyed the dough in blue and yellow colors. According to Joan, her main rule when interacting with the younger generation is not to ask "How are you?" and "How are you feeling?" because the celebrity understands that they have experienced terrible events (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the page) .
"Now heading to Ukraine, where there's probably not a lot of joking and giggling among kids. The trauma is too deep, it persists. I hope to learn something from them about survival and resilience. And perform one or two songs for them," Baez wrote on her way to Ukraine.

The American noted that she cuddled a lot with children in Lviv. The celebrity visited near the Opera and Ballet Theater, capturing the little ones playing carefree by the fountain. "Saturday evening in Lviv. Life is exactly as it should be," the vocalist signed the footage.

The country singer also walked through the very center of the capital. She visited Maidan Nezalezhnosti, showing her subscribers the lawn of national memory, a memorial where flags with the names of Ukrainians killed in the war are placed.

By the way, Ukraine Children's Action Project was founded in May 2022. The company collaborates with local officials and nongovernmental organizations in Lviv and Warsaw to improve the health and education of children affected by the full-scale Russian invasion.
