"I have cried too many tears to count": Meghan Markle opens up about painful family loss

Meghan Markle opens up about a painful loss in her family

The wife of British Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, revealed a painful loss in her family. The Duchess of Sussex's favorite dog, a beagle named Guy, passed away.

She shared the sad news on her Instagram page, publishing a post where she collected the warmest moments with the pet. Meghan Markle admitted that it is very difficult to experience the passing of her four-legged friend, because he was with her in both the happiest and most difficult moments of her life.

"In 2015, I adopted a beagle from a dog shelter in Canada. He was in a shelter where animals are put to sleep in Kentucky and had only a few days to live. I took him in and fell in love with him. They called him "the little guy" because he was so small and fragile, so I called him "Guy". If you followed me on instagram back in the day, you saw a lot of him - and on The Tig too. He was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom….he was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort," wrote the Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan Markle shared that shortly before she moved to the UK, Guy had a terrible accident. The dog underwent many complicated surgeries and spent several months in a veterinary clinic. Back then, she and her husband used to go to the clinic late at night after work to spend some time with their four-legged friend.

Prince Harry's wife recalled that some doctors told her that the animal would never walk again. Fortunately, however, there were experts who were able to completely cure Guy.

"I have cried too many tears to count - the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too," Meghan Markle added.
