"I don't like Russia": Dee Snider expresses support for Ukraine and admits to having Ukrainian roots
The vocalist of the famous American glam metal band Twisted Sister, Dee Snider, has publicly supported Ukraine in the war with Russia. The 69-year-old musician admitted that he has Ukrainian roots for the first time, saying that his grandfather suffered from oppression by the aggressor country.
A video message from the celebrity, where he calls on the public to support our homeland, appeared on the United24 Telegram channel. He noted that Ukrainians are fighting not only for their country, but also for freedom for all.
"My grandfather, Misha Polotnyk, was born and raised in Ukraine under the Russian tsar. I don't like Russia, but I have a strong love for Ukraine. My grandfather lived there, in an oppressed country. They gained their freedom, and now the Russians are trying to take it away again," the musician said.
Dee Snider emphasized that the international community should not allow our country to lose its freedom. He urged people not to forget about the terrible war that is taking place on the territory of Ukraine and to support the country by contributing to charitable contributions.
"These people are fighting for their freedom, they are fighting for their lives. We, the whole world, must support them. Do not forget that the war continues. It's not just a fight for Ukraine, it's a fight for freedom for everyone," the vocalist said.
