Singer Melovin (Kostya Bocharov) has admitted why he lives in Ukraine and is not going to flee abroad, even though he has the opportunity. The artist says that he loves his homeland so much that he cannot leave it.

Melovin periodically visits other countries with concerts, and the last time it happened was in May 2024. According to the scenario of many Ukrainian bloggers and other celebrities, he could have cheated and not returned home. However, as Bocharov says in an interview with Suspilne, he has never overstayed his travel permit and has always returned home on time.

"Then why am I sitting in front of you? I could have stayed there so many times. I toured a lot in Europe. We raised huge amounts of money and brought it here to Ukraine. And believe me, there were many opportunities to stay there, given the prospects of the European audience from Eurovision. I could have stayed and continued my musical career. But I'm not running away. I like it, I love this country," Melovin admitted.

He says he sees a lot of shortcomings in Ukraine, but European countries, which are often idealized, also have their problems. But there are certain things that the singer loves about his homeland, and they are what keep him in his native land.

"Yes, it (Ukraine - Ed.) has its own issues, its own mentality, it has its own problems, just like any other country in Europe. But I like these people, I like the air here, I like going to perform for European audiences, and I like bringing some help if it's possible to do so. Because there's a lot more donations there now. No matter what anyone says, the topic of Ukraine itself is slowly fading away, but people still feel a kind of industrial need to help, if you can ask them to, of course. I feel so comfortable," the singer continued.

According to Melovin, he has never overstayed his permitted stay abroad: "I've never been abroad for more than six days. I arrived there, did everything in one go, and we came back. I have never been in violation of the end date of my stay.

Earlier, Melovin gave an interview to OBOZ.UA, in which he talked about the most memorable Atlas, from the stage of which he made a coming out, and which concerts he will not refuse, even at the risk of running into Ukrainians' hatred.
