How to vote at Eurovision 2024: the rules have changed

On Tuesday, May 7, the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place in Malmö, Sweden, where Ukrainians will be able to vote for their favorite and then cast their votes in the second semi-final on May 9 and the final on May 11. The show will start at 22:00 Kyiv time.

OBOZ.UA explains in detail how to vote for your favorite at Eurovision 2024. It is worth noting that the winners of the semifinals will be chosen only by the audience votes, and the grand final will sum up the scores of both Euro fans and the jury.

According to the contest rules, viewers cannot vote for their own country's representative, so Ukrainians can only support other participants of Eurovision 2024, either in the semifinals or in the grand final.

However, Ukrainians who are abroad and have a foreign mobile operator will be able to vote for the duo Jerry Heil and alyona alyona with the song Teresa & Maria, who will perform in the first semi-final at number 5.

How to cast your vote: step-by-step instructions

There are several ways to vote:

• via the official Eurovision Song Contest app for Android or iOS;
• by sending an SMS to 7576 with the sequence number of the respective performance.

This year, the rules of the audience voting have undergone significant changes. Eurofans can vote for their favorite during almost the entire show, as the voting lines will be open from the beginning of the first contestant's performance. This will allow more viewers who are not able to watch the entire Eurovision Song Contest 2024 to vote for their favorite as soon as possible and, as the organizers note, not to set an alarm to vote for a potential winner in the middle of the night.
