How to bleach things fast: Five proven ways

Proper soaking before washing will return things to their whiteness

White things look very effective, both in clothing and in the interior. But how many times have you stopped yourself from such a purchase, motivated by the fact that taking care of white will be very difficult? The slightest stains and patina on the fabric spoil the thing almost irrevocably. However, everything can be less dramatic, if you know how to whiten things.

OBOZREVATEL gathered a few simple recipes from improvised means. They are suitable for different situations. But do not forget to read the item's label before washing, so you know if you can apply this approach to it.

Laundry soap and baking soda

For a bleach soak, rub each white garment thoroughly with laundry soap, then put everything in warm water. Add two tablespoons of baking soda to the container with the clothes or textiles, mix everything thoroughly and leave it for two hours. This way you can safely get rid of yellowing on the fabric.

Hydrogen peroxide, ammonia and baking soda

This method will remove fresh stains and gray stains, but it will not cope with old stains. Take two tablespoons each of peroxide, ammonia and baking soda and dissolve them in enough warm water. Soak everything you want to bleach in this solution for three hours. After that, wash the things in the usual way.

Boric Acid

This bleach will work on both cotton and synthetic fabrics. It will effectively remove the gray stain from them. Take dry acid and two liters of slightly warm water. Dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of the product in water and put the whites in the solution for two hours. After that, rinse and wash as usual.

Mustard

A last resort for things that don't work any other way. Take two tablespoons of dry mustard and pour it into two liters of hot water. Stir thoroughly and put things in mustard water. Leave it to work overnight. In the morning, rinse everything well and machine wash.

Baking soda, bleach and sunflower oil

A detergent-based remedy removes all stains well, but may be too aggressive for delicate fabrics. To prepare it, take 250 ml of powder, 4 tablespoons of bleach, 1 tablespoon of baking soda and a few teaspoons of vegetable oil. Put all the ingredients in a suitable container - a metal basin or a pot - and pour them with boiling water. Stir well and soak in this solution everything you want to bleach. Boil things in it on a low heat for 20 minutes, then turn off the fire and leave the clothes and textiles to soak for 7 hours.
