Home Alone star hospitalized in critical condition ahead of important trial
The star of the Christmas movie Home Alone, Devin Ratray, was hospitalized on the eve of a court hearing. The actor, known for his role as Buzz, Kevin McCallister's brother, is accused of attempted murder, which he committed in 2021.
The actor's lawyers said he was "in critical condition," but nothing is known about the cause of the defendant's deteriorating health. According to TMZ, Ratray has been discharged from a New York hospital and is now at home, resting on doctor's orders.
Court documents state that the 47-year-old actor was out of the state when the accident happened.
Due to his emergency hospitalization, his criminal trial had to be delayed. Jury selection was scheduled to begin on Monday, January 22, in an Oklahoma courtroom.
Devin first appeared in court in February 2022 and said he did not consider himself guilty of the crime.
As a reminder, his ex-girlfriend claimed that during a quarrel, the actor tried to strangle her and hit her in the face.
In 2021, he was detained and immediately released on bail of $25,000. When the victim contacted law enforcement, it was found that she had a bruise under her left eye, scratches under her right eye, as well as a bruise on her chest and pain in her right arm.
The woman said that during the attack, her boyfriend shouted, "This is how you will die." More than two years have passed since then but the case has not been resolved yet.
