Hamas terrorists killed a famous Israeli singer who could have performed at Eurovision 2024
The 26-year-old singer Shaul Gringlik, who could have participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 from Israel, was killed by Hamas terrorists. He was not only an artist who participated in the National Selection of his country, but also a soldier.
According to the Times of Israel, the performer was killed in the Gaza Strip a few weeks after he successfully auditioned for the TV show on December 3. He was a captain.
The journalists found out that Gringlik was mobilized for the war against Hamas, but in early December he took a leave of absence from the war zone and sang at the competition.
The jury and the audience liked his song "about living with deep pain". In the future, the artist had every chance to win and go to an international competition.
The singer came on stage in a military uniform, which was highly appreciated by the judges. One of them, Karen Peles, said: "I'm glad to see you in a military uniform because it's encouraging. I will be happy if you represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest."
Gringlik served in the 931st Battalion of the Nahal Brigade, which came under enemy fire. Israel promised to dedicate the next edition of the National Selection to the soldier.
