From a meme hero to a warrior and family man: how Chotkyi Patsa, who was "buried" by the Russians a year ago, lives today

Ivan Martynov, who was a meme hero and became famous in 2014 for the phrase "This is an abomination," has been defending Ukraine since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion as part of the 68th Separate Ranger Brigade named after Oleksa Dovbush. Over the past 10 years, the network's star has turned from a "Chotkyi Patsa" to a family man, and now his life revolves around his family and military service.

Ivan Martynov has never stood aside from the public life of Ukrainians. He took an active part in the Revolution of Dignity, then got into a pre-trial detention center, but unknown people helped him get out of there, then the celebrity signed a contract with the army and after February 24, 2022, he mobilized to the front. Ivan Martynov lives in Rivne region with his wife Olha Kravchuk and daughter, who was born in late 2023, but he spends most of his time at the front. The soldier returns home during his leave, which lasts an average of 10 days. He has been in a relationship for over 3 years. Because of the war, "Chotkyi Patsa" could not attend his wife's childbirth, and he got married in uniform.

The family was also shocked when the Russians "buried" Ivan Martynov on social media. At the front, several tanks fired at his position, causing some damage to his personal belongings. However, due to the fact that the soldiers were in "holes," none of the personnel was injured. Instead, the Russians decided otherwise and launched a fake news story online.

As a reminder, in the spring of 2023, Chotkyi Patsa married Olha Kravchuk. Although the couple lives in the Rivne region, the wedding ceremony took place in Khmelnytskyi. Eight months later, Ivan Martynov's daughter was born. She is now a year old.

Earlier, the soldier admitted that after the victory of Ukraine, he intended to get married (this goal has already been achieved) and go on a trip.
