Forecasts are getting worse: what place do bookmakers predict for Ukraine at Eurovision 2023

The first semi-final of Eurovision 2023 will take place on May 9, and on May 13, we will find out the name of the winner in the final. The bookmakers have made their predictions and decided on a favourite, which has significantly broken away from the other participants. Unfortunately, Ukraine is losing ground.

Initially, our country was a clear leader. The TVORCHI duo, who will represent Ukraine this year with their powerful English-language song Heart of Steel, have now dropped to third place. However, it's all about the coefficient, which is quite low compared to the first and second places. OBOZREVATEL offers to get acquainted with analysts' ratings.

For example, the Smarkets website shows a clear leader, Loreen from Sweden, who has already won the 2012 song contest with her global hit Euphoria. This year, she plans to repeat her success with the track Tattoo. Bookmakers estimate her chances at 55.56%.

Finland took second place. The country will be represented by singer Käärijä with his rhythmic track Cha Cha Cha Cha. The bookmakers' odds are 17.54%.

As we have already noticed, the TVORCHI duo rounds out the top three. The Ukrainians will automatically qualify for the final on 13 May as the country that won last year. The odds of their victory are 8.7%.

The Eurovisionworld website offers a similar ranking. The places are distributed almost exactly the same, with only a few percentage points difference in the coefficients.

Earlier, it became known which Ukrainian stars will perform in the final of Eurovision 2023. Tina Karol, Verka Serdyuchka and other artists from last year's shows will appear on stage. This list, as well as the list of stars who will open the contest, does not include Ruslana, the 2004 winner. Back then, she won with her incendiary hit "Wild Dances" and brought Ukraine its first ever statuette from the prestigious song contest. The artist did not remain silent. A scandal erupted.
