During their winning performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, the crystal microphone winner Non-Binary Nemo from Switzerland accidentally broke their statuette by not calculating the strength of their "fall" to their knees. Fortunately, the situation ended optimistically - they received another cup, however, without the print of this year's song contest.

This situation took place on the show's live broadcast, where it was clearly visible that Nemo were very upset. Later, during a press conference, they tried to defuse the situation and even timed the broken statuette to the message of the song.

"I broke the code [a reference to the winning song "The Code"], I broke the trophy, but maybe Eurovision needs to be fixed too..." Nemo said.

As far as can be seen, the cup broke in the "leg" area when the winner placed it on the stage, applying some force. At the same time, Nemo's thumb was injured, which he reported on Instagram. Later, at the press conference, he was given a new crystal microphone, but without the symbols of the year - a classic Eurovision print without the country and year.

Nemo has already posted a video on their Instagram page showing them holding both statuettes and thanking everyone who supported and voted for them. "We cracked the code. Thank you from the bottom of my heart," they wrote.
