Eurovision 2024 song ranking on Spotify: Ukraine is in seventh place, but Ukrainians consider it a good sign

The first semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, which will be held on May 7 in Malmö, Sweden, will take place in a week, so European fans have started listening to the participants' songs on music streaming platforms. The top nine most listened-to tracks on Spotify include almost all the same artists that bookmakers promise to reach the top 10 but in a slightly different order. For example, Ukraine, which has been ranked 5th on the official Eurovision Song Contest website since April 16, was only 7th among viewers.

As of April 28, the song Europapa by Joost Klein from the Netherlands is at the top of the list. In one day, the track was listened to 402 thousand times. Bookmakers gave him third place in the ranking and predicted a 14% chance of winning the show. The statistics were published on the Eurovision Charts fan page on the social network X.

For Europapa, the second place in the "listeners' rating" goes to Italian Angelina Mango with her song La noia. It was listened to almost 304 thousand times that day.

The next most listened-to duo is Marcus & Martinus – Unforgettable (133 thousand), which bookmakers predict only a 1% chance of winning, French singer Slimane – Mon amour (113.7 thousand), Israeli singer Eden Golan – Hurricane (99.6 thousand), Spanish duoNebulossa – Zorra (80.5 thousand) and then Ukrainian duo alyona alyona & Jerry Heil.

The song "Teresa & Maria" has been listened to 80 thousand times, and thanks to this, it has taken 7th place. However, this does not upset Ukrainians. In one of the most popular Telegram channels for European fans, Ukrainians consider the track's steady popularity a good sign:

• "You really have no idea how stable Teresa & Maria is in terms of streaming."
• "It means that Europeans are actively listening."
