Emma Stone's dress split open when she went on stage to accept her Oscar: "best actress" blames it on Ryan Gosling

This year, Emma Stone won the Oscar for Best Actress for her role as Bella Baxter in the fantasy melodrama Poor Things. When the winner went on stage to receive the prestigious statuette, she discovered that her luxurious dress was torn at the back along the seams.

Stone began her victory speech by saying that she had a "wardrobe malfunction" on the way to the stage. The excitement of the victory, though pleasant, was noticeably intensified by the small embarrassment with the dress. However, the star did not lose her cool and made a witty joke, "blaming" her colleague Ryan Gosling for the situation.

The fact is that shortly before the Best Actor winner was announced, Gosling was on stage with an impressive performance of Ken from the movie Barbie. He sang his now iconic song I'm Just Ken and did it, of course, in his typical Ken way, provoking incessant laughter in the audience.

So Stone, turning her back to the audience to demonstrate her distress, said: "Oh, my God, my dress is ruined. I think it happened during I'm Just Ken. I'm pretty sure of it."

Stone also warned the audience that her voice was "a little off," which could have been the result of how she screamed while singing the lyrics to And So Am I! when Gosling handed her the microphone during his ballad.

As you know, Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling are close friends who have a well-coordinated acting tandem. They have played partners in many films, including La La Land, for which the actress also won an Oscar in 2017.

As for this year's Best Actress, she chose a strapless jacquard dress with a stunning architectural canopy skirt for the Oscars. The outfit was custom-made for the Hollywood beauty by the luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton.

The actress' stylist Petra Flannery paired the dress with a 30-carat yellow diamond necklace, also by Louis Vuitton, and her hair stylist Mara Rozak was inspired by the "classic architecture" of her star client's dress.
