The fact is that shortly before the Best Actor winner was announced, Gosling was on stage with an impressive performance of Ken from the movie Barbie. He sang his now iconic song I'm Just Ken and did it, of course, in his typical Ken way, provoking incessant laughter in the audience.

So Stone, turning her back to the audience to demonstrate her distress, said: "Oh, my God, my dress is ruined. I think it happened during I'm Just Ken. I'm pretty sure of it."

Stone also warned the audience that her voice was "a little off," which could have been the result of how she screamed while singing the lyrics to And So Am I! when Gosling handed her the microphone during his ballad.
