Robert Habeck found himself in an uncomfortable situation

German Vice Chancellor, Minister of Economic Affairs, and Climate Change Robert Habeck found himself in an embarrassing situation during an official visit to Oman, a state on the Arabian Peninsula. Following tradition, the politician removed his shoes before entering the mosque, inadvertently revealing his mismatched socks to the world.

The German news channel N-tv responded to the awkward moment with humor, joking that Habeck might have been dressing in the dark. However, Russian propagandists offered their version, suggesting that Germans might be short of money for a pair of socks due to financial assistance to Ukraine.

Footage from Oman captures the German politician strolling through the Sultan Qaboos Mosque in the capital, Muscat, wearing socks of different colors.

One sock was navy blue, and the other was black. While street fashion often permits such experiments, the trend did not resonate well with high-ranking European officials. Most likely, it was simply due to inattention.

This didn't seem to bother the German Vice Chancellor, who confidently walked through the mosque in front of videographers. However, it sparked mockery among Russians. One propaganda resource claimed that Germany had "problems" with pairs of socks because they had sent all the matching pairs to Ukraine.

"One sock is black, the other is navy blue. Federal Minister of Economy and Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck proved his fashion sense is on point when he visited the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. It did not seem to bother him much," said the German announcer.
