Buckingham Palace cancels Queen Camilla's public appearance as her health deteriorates
Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom will miss one of her scheduled public appearances as her health has deteriorated. In early November, Her Highness was diagnosed with a chest infection, which has now made her very weak.
According to the BBC, the wife of King Charles III will not meet Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in the UK. Buckingham Palace said that changes to the 77-year-old monarch's work program were made on the recommendation of doctors.
It is noted that, in accordance with her royal duties, Camilla was supposed to spend a large amount of time outdoors meeting distinguished guests. However, due to the unfavorable weather conditions in London on the day of the reception, experts recommended that Her Highness skip this part of the event. The Buckingham Palace representative will also miss the Horse Guards Parade. Instead, Prince and Princess of Wales will join King Charles III.
Still, Queen Camilla is expected to meet with the Emir of Qatar and his wife later. She will attend a special exhibition at the Art Gallery in the residence and a state banquet.
Information about the monarch's illness first appeared in early November, when Queen Camilla missed the annual opening of the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey and a meeting with Olympic and Paralympic athletes due to a chest infection. At the time, Buckingham Palace said there was no reason to worry about Her Majesty's health.
A few weeks later, Queen Camilla stepped out and had a reception. The monarch held a gala meeting with the winners and runners-up of the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition at Buckingham Palace.
It seemed that the health of the British royal family member had improved, but now she is forced to take some time from public events once again. Doctors say that Her Highness has enough time to rest for a full recovery.
